We've been waiting for a long time, now we're almost there. From 1 June 2012 Lufthansa will be flying non-stop from Düsseldorf to Tokyo, with an Airbus A340-300 taking off from the Rhine to the Japanese capital six times a week.
After destinations to the USA and Canada, this is the aircraft's first long-haul flight to Asia from Düsseldorf. A quarter of all the Japanese living in Germany live in Düsseldorf and, after London and Paris, this represents the third largest community in Europe. Time for a non-stop flight!
